Wastewater Treatment Plant „GIGABLOK” in Katowice

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Hydroprojekt elaborated comprehensive technical documentation for the project named “Design, Construction, and Commissioning of the Sewage Treatment Plant in Katowice, Poland” co-financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund. The scope of the Project included a complete reconstruction of inefficient and technologically obsolete “Centrum-Gigablok” sewage treatment plant, operating since 1981. It involved execution of more than 40 structures of different purposes and sizes, as well as of significant complexity.

TECHNICAL DATA:

• capacity of 40.000 m³/d
• Pe = 200.000
• After the reconstruction, “Gigablok” is a mechanical-biological-chemical treatment plant with improved removal of nutrients i.e. fertilizer compounds: nitrogen and phosphorus.

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• preliminary and detailed designs for all branches
• construction supervision on behalf of the author
• as-built drawings
