Świnna Poręba Hydropower Plant on the Skawa River

The Świnna Poręba reservoir project is intended to generate hydroelectric power, regulate the downstream river flow, reduce the risk of flooding, store drinking water and create opportunities for recreation and tourism.

Basic technical parameters of Hydropower Plant:

  • installed discharge of 2 Kaplan turbines: 15 m3/s
  • installed power capacity: 3.8 m ¸ 4.2 MW
  • acceptable head range: 16 m ¸ 37 m
  • average production: 18 000 ¸ 21 000 MWh/year
