Wastewater Treatment Plant in Starachowice
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Hydroprojekt carried out the works as a Partner of Joint Venture Hydrobudowa Polska – Hydroprojekt, awarded Contract ”Comprehensive Modernization of the Starachowice WWTP Consisting in the Extension and Modernization of the Sewage Part” , co-financed by the EU Cohesion Fund. The scope of the Project included: sewage, mechanical, biological and chemical part of the facility, in particular:
- reconstruction (modernization) of the mechanical treatment, beginning from the screens station through the raw sewage pumping station along with construction of new sand traps and reconstruction of the primary settling tanks,
- construction of the second biological treatment line to replace the existing trickiling filters,
- expansion of the existing biological reactor by the construction of an additional denitrification chamber,
- creation of a reserve storage capacity by using the existing primary settling tanks from the disassembled trickiling filters.

- an integrated, biological removal of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus, based on activated sludge process in a three-phase system – defosfatation, denitrification, and nitrification was adopted as the technology of wastewater treatment

- construction supervision on behalf of the author,
- as-built drawings
- start-up design and commissionning
